Success continues in Northern Ireland
The Holleran Lagan Joint Venture has now completed 430km of water main pipeline renewal and rehabilitation in the first three years of this £40m contract in the West Ballymeena Region.
Nearly two thirds of this work has been installed using advanced no-dig methods with Holleran providing extensive experience in directional drilling, pipe bursting and pipe lining.
Northern Ireland Water and their designers Atkins work with the JV to select the best solution for each section of the project. This is then developed by the Holleran Lagan team and engineering design partner Taggarts to provide the optimum methodology, programme and value.
This project is consistently amongst the best performing contracts in both Holleran and Lagan for Health & Safety and for Client satisfaction levels, serving as a model for the effective operation of other Framework contracts.
It has been successful largely because of the high degree of trust and mutual respect between the parties involved and the effective use of Early Contractor Involvement.
The Northern Ireland Water Mains Project is a £96 million initiative which will upgrade over 1,200 kms of water main over four years. A series of individual schemes will upgrade a water mains system that supplies 625 million litres of water each day to 1.7 million consumers.
"The Holleran-Lagan jv has provided a very high level of innovation, expertise and drive and the projects undertaken through this arrangement have delivered major benefits to us as the Client and most importantly to our customers."
