Holleran charges ahead in Westminster

Highlighting the major investments in electric vehicles detailed by the Government in the recent Budget, Holleran has installed two more electric vehicle recharging stations for Elektromotive - the UK's leading manufacturer of these advanced systems.

Connecting into a sub-station in the basement of the Royal Institute, the majority of works were completed by lunchtime on the first day with installation of the charging points taking place the following morning.

This installation is the latest in a programme of works that makes Westminster Council a leader in providing for electric vehicles in London with fifteen recharging stations. The total in London is now more than sixty, all of which have been installed by Holleran.

In addition to electric vehicles being an environmentally friendly way to travel, there are the added incentives of free admission to the congestion zone, free parking, free charging at selected council-managed points and no road tax.

Greg Simmons, Elektromotive Technical Director said "The work we have carried out at the Royal Institute is helping to spread the use of electric vehicles in London. It is especially fitting to be installing the charging points here because this is where Michael Faraday carried out his research into electricity, leading to the invention of the electric motor in 1821".
