Sewer joint sealing and manhole sealing
Infiltration of groundwater into sewers can mean increased operational and capital costs in the sewer network and at treatment plants. Most leaks in structurally sound sewer systems are through pipe joints, manholes and service connections.
Holleran offers an economical solution to this problem by testing and sealing defective joints with the Cues AC400 acrylate grout injection technique, providing an impermeable gel ring outside the pipe joint mitigating groundwater ingress.
The system is also an effective means of manhole sealing, where pipelines and manholes are below the groundwater table giving high quantities of groundwater, or saline infiltration, into manholes. Chemical grout injection can seal such leaks by forming a waterproof barrier. Holes are drilled from within the manhole and, using a pump, the gel is injected into and behind the structure creating a waterproof, flexible seal.
